Technology

Atlas Maridan develops and manufactures one of the world's most advanced systems for underwater surveying, an AUV. The AUV, an unmanned robotic survey system, is equipped with an advanced payload sensor suite, which has further been integrated into the mission management system.

The AUV is equipped with a navigation system based on an implementation of an inertial motion sensor coupled with an aided inertial navigation system. The system is further aided by additional sensors and the input is processed by an algorithm delivering unprecedented navigation accuracy underwater. The navigation system is available in different configurations based on usage in AUV, ROV, ROTV or Towed Array applications.

As a separate layer in the navigation system is a stability augmentation system which allows operators full control over inherently unstable systems. Stability augmentation provides operators with a watchful control system that pre-empt will react to a given situation. This ensures that the operator can concentrate on mission solution, and the stability augmentation system will cover the more general tasks of stability, control and risk avoidance. Stability augmentation  is part of the core control system in the AUV, but, is distributed for ROV, ROTV and towed array operation and control.
